Installation contractors for building safety and building services
Not every building already has the systems in place. New developments, change of use, extensions and ageing estates all need equipment specifying, installing and commissioning before there is anything to inspect. The desk matches installation briefs the same way it matches inspection briefs: to firms holding third-party certification for the specific scope of work.

What we check before a firm reaches your shortlist
- Third-party certification that covers the installation scope, not a generic trade membership.
- Companies House standing, trading history and insurance levels appropriate to the project value.
- Evidence of comparable projects in a similar building type and occupancy.
- Capacity and realistic programme against your dates, including out of hours and phased works.
- Whether the firm can hold the ongoing maintenance and statutory testing afterwards.
Common questions
Do you only cover inspection and certification work?
No. A large share of briefs are installation and upgrade projects. The same matching process applies, and the accreditation we check against is the installation scheme relevant to the work rather than the inspection scheme.
Can you help with a new build or a full refurbishment?
Yes. Tell us the programme, the building type and which systems are in scope. We will come back on whether we can cover the whole package or whether it is better split between specialists.
Will the installer also maintain the system afterwards?
Most firms on the panel do both. If continuity matters to you, say so in the brief and we will weight the shortlist towards firms that can carry the maintenance contract as well.
What does it cost to use the desk?
Nothing. The service is free to building owners, operators and duty holders. You choose the provider and contract with them directly.
Tell the desk what you need
Send one brief. Three vetted specialists come back inside forty-eight hours. Free to the building owner, always.
