BUILDING SAFETY AND REMEDIAL WORKS PROGRAMMES

Fire safety and building safety remediation contractors

Remediation is where the money and the risk both sit. A survey identifies the works, a deadline attaches to them, and the duty holder then has to appoint a contractor capable of delivering at a scale most compliance firms never touch. The gap between firms who will quote and firms who can deliver is wider here than anywhere else in the sector.

The desk approaches the market anonymously, checks track record at comparable scale, verifies third party certification against the specific activity rather than a generic badge, and comes back with a shortlist you can defend to a board, an insurer or a regulator.

What we check on a remediation programme

Common questions

We have an enforcement notice with a deadline. How fast can you move?

Call the desk on 020 7293 0327 rather than waiting on a form. Enforcement work is handled differently because the deadline is fixed and the consequence of missing it is not commercial. We will tell you honestly whether the timescale is achievable with the firms available.

How do you check a contractor can handle a remediation project?

Track record at comparable scale, third party certification for the specific activity, the resourcing they will actually put on it, and financial standing against the project value. Passive fire protection in particular is an area where certification for one activity does not cover another, and we check the scope line by line.

Do you cover cladding and external wall remediation?

We can help you find and assess contractors, and we can help you read the field. Large external wall projects are usually formally procured and often funded through a scheme with its own requirements, so what the desk adds varies. Tell us where you are and we will be straight about it.

What about the survey that identified the works?

If the remedial scope came out of a survey you are not confident in, say so. Building a remediation programme on a weak survey is the most expensive mistake available in this category, and a second opinion is cheap by comparison.

Is the desk free on remediation work?

Yes. Free to the building owner, operator or public body. We are paid by the appointed contractor and only on appointment.
